Hiroshi Sugimoto|Retrospective at Hayward Gallery, London

Hiroshi Sugimoto’s retrospective exhibition ‘Hiroshi Sugimoto: Time Machine’ is now on view at Hayward Gallery from Wednesday, October 11, and runs through Sunday, January 7, 2024. This exhibition primarily features his photographic masterpieces, showcases a range of works, spanning from the earliest series of Dioramas, Theaters, and Seascapes, to the more recent Opticks series. This retrospective offers a panoramic view of his artistic career to date.

Ralph Rugoff, director of Hayward Gallery and the curator of this exhibition, gave a speech of Sugimoto’s works and creative achievements in the opening ceremony.

Participating in “Art Week Tokyo”

Gallery Koyanagi will participate in “Art Week Tokyo” from November 2 to November 5. This event is an annual showcase of the creativity and diversity of contemporary art in Tokyo. Throughout this period, Gallery Koyanagi will be continuing its presentation of the exhibition “Arisa Kumagai | …apparently God is forgiving.”
Also, during this event, the exhibition “Worlds in Balance: Art in Japan from the Postwar to the Present” will be held at Okura Museum of Art, exhibiting one of Sugimoto’s Opticks.
